Grass snakes and Adders are not uncommon in the Village but don't be alarmed. Both are very shy and will not try to make your aquaintance. This grass snake had to be cut free from fruit nets. When alarmed Grass snakes emit a repulsive solution which has a pungent smell which is difficult to wash off skin or clothes.
Of course Adders are not to be touched as they are venomous.
