Appendix 1.

After nearly three years’ work by volunteers from the parish, we have now published the Five Villages Parish Plan Report and Action Plan. You can read it on this website [ links above] or peruse a printed copy in either ‘The Compton’ pub or Compton Dando hall. Electronic copies are available on request from pam@pamelacole.co.uk.
The Action Plan has been adopted by both the Parish Council and B&NES council, and forms the basis for delivery of the actions and ideas which came out of the community consultations and questionnaire. Some of the actions have been taken on by the Parish Council, while other ideas need the involvement of local people to help make them a reality.
Some actions are already underway - for example the oil-buying group in Compton Dando has already made its first purchase. Other key areas of interest are protecting the environment, village shop, community transport, better broadband, renewable energy and a local history and/or gardening group.
If any of the ideas and actions interest you, or if you would like to discuss the report or action plan, come along to The Compton pub on the second Sunday of the month for a chat. We will be there from 7pm to 9pm, with drink and nibbles provided. The first Sunday session on 10th October was enjoyed by all, with some very interesting ideas discussed.
