Fine weather and a large crowd of invited high rolling punters made for a fun evening at the

Compton Dando Charity Race Night on Saturday June 14th 2008.

Family racegoers had the opportunity to be a Racehouse owner, rider or simply have a flutter on the "tote" .There was no shortage of volunteer "Jockeys" who skillfully navigated their steeds through water jumps and fences under the close scrutiny of the stewards. The evening finished off with a Horseshoe throwing contest , with heats for Men, Ladies and children.

The Clerk of the course and authentic commentary was provided Mr. Charles Pennock and the Chief Steward was John Dibble.

A big thank you is extended to the generous punters that supported the evening, and the hard working team that spent many days preparing and setting up the course food / bar and facilities.

£2000 raised for the South West Childrens Hospice

We are also greatful to Data Tote and Alide Hire for their generous support.
